Citrus Sangria

Sangria is just delightful isn’t it? Any excuse to have wine midday is a good one and with sangria you get fruit too! See drinking can be healthy too! Moving away from the traditional red and white wine sangrias that typically include apples and grapes; today’s sangria recipe includes melons and a bit of citrus for a cocktail that is sure to become a summer staple.

Before we begin gather these ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of cheap Moscato (ex: Barefoot)
  • ¾ cup Midori
  • ¼ cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • ¼ cup of fresh squeezed lime juice
  • ½ cup simple syrup
  • 1 cup honeydew melon balls
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced

*To make simple syrup combine 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of water in a pot on medium heat on the stove top. Stir the mixture until the sugar has completely dissolved in the water. Let cool before…
