Thirsty Thursday–Whiskey Makes Me Frisky

If you know anything about me based on my Twitter account you know I love whiskey. If you’ve been following me lately you’ll know that there’s a new love in my life, and his name is Fireball.

Oh how I love Fireball.

Anyway while taking shots of it and getting a little rowdy are my specialty sometimes I just want to curl up on the couch and sip a hot cup of cinnamony goodness while I watch a Friends marathon. Enter the Hot Toddy.

Horni Toddy - Hornitos Tequila Cocktails

A Hot Toddy is super simple to make and actually encouraged as a remedy for annoying cold symptoms. Can you just write me a prescription now? Hot Toddies are perfect for upcoming cold fall and winter nights so lets get down to it. Grab your Fireball or any other whiskey, a fresh lemon or lemon juice,  and a tea bag (I usually go with a chamomile or my favorite sleepytime tea, something relaxing). Next, coat the bottom of your mug with a thin layer of honey add, about half a teaspoon of lemon juice, and add your whiskey, now, Im not going to tell you how much to use, the recipe has a suggested serving size but like……WHISKEY. Next take a shot. No this isn’t part of the written recipe but just do it, you’re fantastic, and you deserve it. Done? Ok now, add hot water and your tea bag to the mug, stir, and let it steep for a while before you drink it. While you wait you might as well take another shot right? I mean it is Thursday. Stay Thirsty babies….
